2008
Well, my 2008 Triathlon Season has come to an end. I completed 10 Kid races and 5 Adult races that spanned 6 states this year; Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Please see the results below. I did very well on my Orbea Dama bike (see above picture); it is extremely fast!!
I am still continuing to train for next year’s season. I finally found a swim team to get on called the Central Arkansas Swim Club Racers. I have two great coaches in Patrick and Onat!! I will be doing a lot of swimming in the off season, and continue to run some 5K’s and bike a lot at the Big Dam Bridge with my Dad.
Please come back often for updates!

I had my best bike time in a kid triathlon, averaging about 18 MPH over 2.1 miles. Here are a few pictures from the race. This first one is two of my buddies, Stefan to my right and Jason to my left. Both of these guys are very fast. Stefan won the 11 year-old division, and Jason was 2nd in the 9 year-old division.

My second Adult Triathlon turned out very well! I was the youngest person in the race, and finished 136th out of 180 men!! I got confused in the pool, and did an extra 50M’s for the swim. Here’s a picture of me coming back from the bike.
July 4th – Little Rock, Arkansas: Firecracker 5K
My Dad fed me a fast food breakfast burrito, and I got a cramp about 2 minutes into the race that lasted for the entire race! This was not a good race for me!!!

May 31st – Edmond, Oklahoma: Edmond YMCA Kids Triathlon

Here’s picture of my good friends from Edmond, Conner and Kelsey. Conner beat everybody, including all the 11-14 year-olds (he’s only 1 year older than me)! He is FAST!!
Check out this action shot sequence of me dismounting from my bike right before the dismount line! Conner’s Dad took these KEWL pictures!!

Cedar Park was a tough course. I finished 3rd in my age group, and 4th overall. Here’s a picture of me with my good buddies (from l-r) Jeremy, Ryan, Nathan, myself, and Jacob. Nathan won the USAT Nationals in 2006 as an 8 year-old. He is FAST!

February 24th – Austin, TX: PURE Austin Pace Bend Road Race
This was my first ever road race! My Dad put me in the wrong race, and I had to race against 10-14 year-olds instead of kids my age! Look at the picture below…They are twice as big as me!! I held my own for the first 6 mile lap, but the second 6 mile lap was very tough. Who said Texas as flat? We were in the hill county of West Austin! If I would have been in the correct race (10 & under), I would have finished First or Second to my buddy Ryan, whose pictured below at the Cedar Park Triathlon.
Plus I would be doing several Sara Lee Iron Kids Series Races, but they apparently will not have any this year for some unknown reason. Click the above link for past Sare Lee Iron Kids (Ironkids) Results.
UPDATE!! Ironkids will start racing again next year!! You can view the news series at the official IRONKIDS website! They have changed the format for next year as well:
